I had officially perfected the look of pigeon poop makeup. I moved on to gliding a tube of burgundy lipstick across my lips, stopping to admire my shimmering bloodred nails. Beautiful is such a floaty word. It seems like if you inhale deeply your nostrils will be filled with a spicy fragrance. It makes you feel like lying in a field of violets.
I walk by people in the hallways, and I see pretty faces. Not beautiful. Pretty. Blond hair, blue eyes. They stare back at mine. Sometimes they don't even notice me.
It's shamefull to even entitle them as pretty: looks aren't everything. Their voices aren't buttery and soft, they are an annoying buzz in my ear. Their smiles do not have kindness behind them.
